Classes

At the core of our business is yoga – the practice of breathing, alignment, stretching, and mindfulness. We offer classes for a starting yogi or the experienced yogi – anyone looking for a practice that provides you with a peace and calm as you breathe into your stretch. Crosby Yoga Levels 1 & 2Balance poses are typically practiced in all classes. Benefits

WHAT IS PEMF?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Devices that use PEMF technology for therapy produce electromagnetic fields with various waveforms and frequencies that stimulate healthy muscles in order to improve and facilitate muscle performance.

Uniquely, the BEMER device thereby temporarily increases local blood circulation in healthy leg muscles.

The effectiveness of these waves depend on specific parameters to target our cell tissues. Much like a musical song that has a specific melody, rhythm and tempo, PEMF therapy devices deliver waves in an organized sequence (melody), at specific frequencies (rhythm) set to a certain pulse (tempo).

What is Yin Yoga? Yin is different than other styles of yoga. The approach comes from the Taoist principle of yin/yang, the balances of opposites. Yin is the cool, stable unchanging aspect of self and the world. Yang is the active, busy, take charge aspect. In this day and age, we tend to live yang lifestyles and most of our yoga reflects that. We practice vinyasa, hatha, and TRX yoga that are all great yang styles of yoga but adding a yin class can keep us balanced and grounded. Yin yoga is a meditative and inward practice and in addition to the physical benefits, is known as a stress reducer. If you are feeling out of balance, anxious and overtaxed this series is a great opportunity to try something new to help manage your busy (yang) life. In yin yoga we work the body’s connective tissues (fascia, tendons, ligaments). The poses typically focus on the lower body: hips, glutes, IT band, legs, and spine. With the instructor’s guidance you find your version of a pose, come to an ‘edge’ and hold for time. It is key that there is no muscle engagement in these poses; rather, you relax into them as much as possible. Without the distraction of constant movement your connective tissue will open and allow you to go deeper in the pose. This approach increases range of motion and is one of the best paths to improved flexibility. So whether you are an athlete, desk jockey or feeling the stiffness of an aging body, yin will help to reduce tightness and tension, increase energy flow and provide a calmness of mind.

It's a total-body training system that allows you to do all sorts of exercises using your body weight. You have to use you core stabilizers to work out with TRX, so you build your core, strength, balance, agility and power.

TRX is a full-body strength workout utilizing a person's own body weight instead of relying on machines or dumbbells. Although this is whole-body suspension training, you use your core for all 45 minutes of the class.

If you are looking for a quick trick to shed some excess belly fatTRX could be a good place to start. Unlike almost any other training system available, TRX Suspension Training challenges your entire body in all planes of motion creating a huge metabolic effect and helps you build lean, toned muscle.

For Beginners...
As challenging as it is, TRX can also be modified for people who are just starting out. You should work with a trainer first to learn proper form and make sure you're up to even the less intense moves.

An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. Since it doesn’t generate steam or much humidity, it provides a more comfortable environment for those who have a lower tolerance for heat and humidity.
